|Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6| Was pondering this verse over my life yesterday while on my flight to California. What does it actually mean to "acknowledge" God? Then God spoke to me directly.
Acknowledging God isn't just having an understanding of his renown, but rather it is the act of realizing the beauty and perfection of his character.
He is JUST. He is FAITHFUL. He is HUMBLE. He is KIND. He is PERSONAL. He is UNDERSTANDING. He is RIGHTEOUS. He is HOLY.
It's not in His nature to fail me. In fact it's impossible since it is not part of His perfect character. Instead He is faithful to sustain me as I trust him to reveal the path He wishes for me to take. In the uncertainty He is faithful to fill me with peace so I can know that everything He has planned for me is good and not to harm me. He knows every part of me inside out. He knows me more than I know myself because He is not just some lofty king sitting on a throne looking down on me. His heart is full of kindness and enjoys loving me despite my mistakes. He understands everything that I feel and go through and desires to help me and sustain me as I continue on this journey with him. Because failing me is not in His nature.
Acknowledging that God's character is perfect makes me realize that I don't have to fear the future. It makes me understand how His hand is in my future. I will live boldly and fearlessly because I know that with my Papa on my side, I am destined to amazing things.
